PEM CONFERENCE 2017
For Industry Sustainability
7TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PRODUCTION ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT
September 28th-29th, 2017
Production Engineering and Management for Industry Sustainability
Since the beginning of industrialization, large clusters of manufacturers and suppliers have grown in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Germany, and in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy.
In 2011, the University of Trieste and the OWL University of Applied Sciences have introduced an international double-degree Master course in “Production Engineering and Management”.
The “International Conference on Production Engineering and Management” has been embedded in the Master program from the very beginning and it was carried out for the first time in June 2011. In the last sixth edition, the topic ‘Direct Digital Manufacturing’ was added alongside ’Product Life-Cycle Assessment’, ‘Lean Manufacturing’, ‘Supply Chain Management’ and ‘Wood Processing Technologies’.
All these topics are strictly related to the goal of cleaner production by using renewable material and energy, reducing the consumption of primary resources, eliminating pollutant emissions and recycling waste. Accordingly, the additional topic ‘Sustainable Production’ has been explicitly introduced in this seventh edition of the Conference.
Aims and scope
The conference is an annual event which aims:
to present current results of research projects
to discuss the recent developments in industry and society with particular reference to the two partnering regions Ostwestfalen-Lippe and Friuli Venezia Giulia
to bring together professionals, experts and students
to give doctoral students the opportunity to present their research work
to highlight the expected results of the introduction of Direct Digital Manufacturing and Sustainable Production.
Topics of the Conference
Direct Digital Manufacturing in the Context of Industry 4.0
Industrial Engineering and Lean Management
Product Life-Cycle Management
Technology and Business for Circular Economy and Sustainable Production
